Merry Christmas !!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of you. Have a great new year on and off the snow, no injuries and lots of fun!!

We already had some good snow here in Austria this season. I have been riding in the deep snow quite a bit already.

Yesterday I just got back from the big air world cup in Sofia, Bulgaria. I did my best cab 1080 ever. Well it was my first actually, but it was really nice and smooth. So I am stoked about it. And yeah, I won the competition.

My first 1080°

Rotterdam, Fis world cup Big Air 2007

Hi there, I just got back from Holland, Rotterdam. The first competition of this season kicked of in front of a big crowd, perfect location and underneath blue skies.

snowboarding in front of the Erasmus bridge in Rotterdam. Great event

My riding went really well. I felt so comfortable on the jump. Like I have been riding it the whole summer. Everything was working together perfectly. During the quarter and semi finals I did frontside 9s and cab 9s. I was actually surprised how easy they went and how much control I had. So I decided to give a frontside 1080 a try in the final.

Well, anyways I had to if I wanted to have a chance agains Peettu P. I landed the front ten on my last jump. I was so stoked. That still Mr. Piiroinen was not to beat didn't matter to me at all. He is a great snowboarder and deserved it.

It was so much fun to ride the finals! And I am happy that I could keep up with some of the tricks which were shown. I was 2nd in the end.

Way cool competition. Snowboarding at its best! Excitement, pressure, skills, style and fun.

Snowpark N.Z.

Hi there,

greetings from down under in New Zealand.

Despite a rough and slow start of my snowboarding (especially the first day on my board was though) I enjoy the days up at snowpark a lot. Now my skills are improving as well. Not quite as good as last year but my turns are already pretty good ;)

It has been sunny everyday so far. Sometimes a little windy. The pipe is perfectly shaped every morning. I still have to get used to the jumps. Some kickers are pretty big to start with. But it is the best way to get into riding again. I started to ride some boxes as well.

There are always a lot of good snowboarders up at the park. In total there are more than 100 snowboard professionals here and about as many pro skiers. It is so much fun to meet up with all my colleagues, having a chat on the chairlift and then going for another fun run in the park. Everybody is relaxed and motivated to go snowboarding after the summer break.

After riding we play a lot of golf together at the local course in Wanaka. It is already nice and warn down in the valleys. I also enjoy staying with my friends from the Austrian team. We have a very cool appartment near the lake (and not too far away from the bars) and it is a lot of fun there.

Life is not bad down here. Stef
